Our pricing is the same for any Interior / Exterior project. $100 per hour which will include capture, basic post processing, and digital delivery of photos. The total price per project is dependent only on the total time required to complete the shoot. Bookings are limited. We limit to only 2 scheduled shoots per day plus Twilight sessions. Our dedication to quality photography limits the number of daily bookings. The following techniques beginning with what is typically the lowest cost will give you an idea of what to expect for your investment.
Natural Lighting. When possible we will use natural lighting. This produces a scene similar to the way your clients will experience it in person. This technique takes the least amount of time to complete.
Natural Lighting combined with Flash. Often we will find that natural lighting will need a little help when part or most of the scene is in shadows. For this situation we will add to the existing natural light with flash photography. Flash produces daylight balanced light to match the existing natural lighting. It will also add to the depth in the scene, making it more inviting. With flash we create the scene with 1 to 7 flash units strategically placed to emphasize more detail and to direct the viewers focus to the most important attributes. This technique will take more time but well worth it with eye popping results.
HDR / Flash. High Dynamic Range Photography has become extremely popular for interiors. It can produce very natural but dramatic results all at the same time. We shoot several exposures of the same scene using different exposure values and combine them together to produce the effect that has become so popular. With some scenes it will be necessary to combine HDR with Flash. Because this technique requires more steps it also requires the most time. But if HDR is an important part of your marketing plan you will be rewarded with stunning results.
Focus Stacking: This process greatly increases the sharpness of the photo. In a normal photo there is only one focus point. For interiors that focus point is typically one third the distance into the room. Objects ahead of and behind that focus point gradually become less sharp. With focus stacking we take a series of photos at progressive focus points and then with special software combine all the images taken into one. The result is a photo that is very sharp front to back.
Twilight photos are excellent for making your property stand out when there may be hundreds of listings for a buyer to choose from. Because these special photos are captured only at dawn or dusk we book just 1 per day. Keep in mind that weather often does not cooperate with this type of photo. They are best captured with clear skies giving the scene a “Moon Blue” that is so revered in Twilight photos. Rescheduling will depend on availability. Rates include standard post processing of each photo.
Post Processing
Basic Post Processing is included in our flat hourly rate. It consists of exposure correction and enhancement, straightening vertical lines created by a wide angle lens, and basic color correction. For HDR and Focus Stacking it includes combining the bracketed images in software.
Beyond Basic Processing we offer custom processing that adds to the creativity and boosts the “WOW” factor. Replacing unattractive skies, enhancing the color of grass, landscaping, focus stacking, etc. For Real Estate Photography we will not digitally remove power lines, broken fence, or any part of the property that is supposed to be there. Rates only begin after standard capture and processing are complete.. The hourly rate is $50 per hour.
Special Notes for Real Estate
Our approach for Real Estate Photography is very straightforward. There are no complicated formulas for square footage, number of rooms, or special packages. We will deliver to you a minimum of 20 photos for upload to MLS. Rates include 20+ photos, standard post processing of each photo, and delivery in requested format (jpeg, tiff, etc.) via Drop Box or your preferred means of delivery.
An average 3 bedroom, 1,800 square foot home captured with Natural Light will take approximately 1 ½ to 2 hours. A larger home with more rooms, additional required lighting, HDR, or requesting more than 20 photos will increase the time needed. Let us know your needs.
